Shakin’ Dudi

This year it is 25 years since the very first live show of Shakin` Dudi. Shakin` Dudi is a  rock`n`roll alter ego of Irek Dudek, the icon of Polish blues, organizer of Rawa Blues Festival, vocalist and multiinstrumentalist. A musician seeking for new forms of expression, connecting blues with other genres of music. A musician, who had a courage to reach the roots of rock`n` roll and give it back its freshness and energy. Because Shakin Dudi is exactly a clear, living energy, particularly visible during performance.

Irek Dudek has formed Shakin` Dudi in 1984. Yet first shows have shaked the Polish music scene. The songs like "Au sza la la la", "Za 10 trzynasta", "Zastanow sie, co robisz" and "Och, Ziuta" have became a canon. All those songs were placed on first LP entitled "Zlota Plyta". For 3 years the band could enjoy huge popularity, thanks to hitting Dudek music and ironic lyrics of Darek Dusza, but also very amazing, full of expression live performances. After 3 years Shakin` Dudi decided to break, and Irek Dudek came back to blues. But from time to time his restless nature woke up and Shakin` Dudi again was running wild on a stage. Fascination of neoswing brought two studio albums: "Platynowa plyta" (1999) and  "Plyta roku" (2002). In 2008 Dudek in 2 days together with friends recorded "Zlota plyta - ciag dalszy", where Shakin Dudi came back to stylish rock`n`roll of the 50s.

For this year Rawa Blues Festival, Shakin Dudi prepares a few surprises. But mainly, we can expect a perfect performance full of both rock`n roll and blues sounds. And for sure we can expect a great joy.
